Our New Arrival!

We had Preston on June 2, and it's so nice to have him here. The kids have loved him! We got to the hospital at 5:30 in the morning. It was fine, because I woke up at 2 and couldn't go back to sleep. Because this is my 3rd c-section I knew exactly what to expect. And of course out of everything I was nervous for the IV. And the nurse didn't make it easy on me. She just kept talking about my veins and my blood... BLAH! I ended up throwing up just hearing her talk about it. Then by the time I got to the OR I was nervous for the spinal, and yes, I threw up in there too. But once I was done with the needles things got better.

Preston was born at 6:54 and weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz. I thought for sure he'd be in the 9 lb. range, but I guess my umbilical cord was kinked and he wasn't getting enough fluids. So once he was born they rushed him to the NICU and gave him an IV and pushed a bunch of liquids through him. He needed oxygen for a little bit too, but after a few hours he was fine and they brought him to me.

This was right after his bath. He's so sweet, he doesn't cry much and didn't even cry during his bath.

My first time holding him. (I have to have that green stuff over my IV so I can't see it)

Matt's parents came down and stayed with the kids while I was in the hospital. It's so nice having them here, I didn't have to worry about the kids, or the house and knew everything was getting taken care of. I thought I'd enjoy the break at the hospital but found that I was bored and missed everyone at home.

The girls have loved holding "it". They just love having a baby. That look on her face says it all!

Averi is so sweet with Preston. I don't worry too much about her with him. She's really motherly. The girls have been carrying around their baby dolls all day since we've brought Preston home. They've even spent quite a bit of time breast feeding their dolls too, from their belly buttons. I think it's easier that way.

I knew this would be a long summer if the kids didn't have something to do. I signed Asher up for Summer school, a craft class and T-Ball. He's loved all these activities. The girls have had fun too!

Asher's learning fast and it's so fun to watch them. Every time they get up to bat Asher starts close to the front of the line, but by the time he's done goofing around he's usually the last batter. It works out though, because the last person up to bat runs all the bases and gets a homerun every time. His first time up to bat he hit the ball then turned around and looked at us. So we told him to run. He hung on to the bat and started towards 3rd base. Then finally got him to run to first and somewhere along the way with everyone yelling he dropped the bat and made it to first base. It's cute, all the other kids had similar experiences their first time up to bat too.
