San Ramon

I don't know what got into me, but a couple of months ago I bought tickets to go to California and visit Carrie. Asher and Haley just play so well together and he always talks about her so I thought it probably wouldn't be that hard. Well, I was wrong. It was really hard! Matt started complaining about the trip before the tickets were purchased so I took my mom instead. That actually worked out really well.
I wanted to get a picture of the two of them and as soon as I pulled out the camera Haley started coaching Asher and telling him how to stand and what to do and not to do to take a good picture. It was so funny. She loves the camera and the camera loves her! She's just so cute and sweet. I don't know if those are the same words that Carrie uses to describe her, but I do! She's got the cutest little munchkin voice and is just as independent as Asher. They just talked about the funniest things. For most of the trip Asher was Super boy and Haley was Bumblina, well that's what he called her and she was ok with it. The first night we got there I was worried about Piper because her stomach wasn't doing very good before we left. But the night we got there Averi must've gotten sick because she threw up the whole trip! I have decided that the majority of Piper's problems have to do with milk. So while we were out there I had her drink soy milk. She actually did really well on it. So now I'm trying to figure out the most healthy alternative to milk. I thought I had a break through today with what I've learned, but both of the girl's couldn't sleep, they acted like their stomach's were cramping up. So, on to the next thing. It's been 15 months of finding just the right thing for Piper. We went to the park one of the days that we were out there. My kids were so tired. They don't sleep well when we aren't at home. I thought Asher looked so cute in this picture. He was really good while we were out there.

Piper wanted some chips, but you can tell how Carrie's holding them that she's NOT giving them up. It was fun seeing where Carrie lives. They'll probably be moving soon though. They were so good about helping with the girls and all the throw up. Most people aren't as accustomed to as much throw up as we are.
My mom really tried to help get Averi to sleep, she was so tired. I don't know if she even napped the whole time we were gone. She's still trying to catch up. Averi had gotten tubes almost 2 weeks before we left and I accidentally forgot to go to her check up and see if they were fine. I'm sure they are, but she got a double ear infection while we were out there. If you've ever seen an infection with tubes it's pretty gross. They drain and there's goop everywhere. I put her on antibiotics the day after we got home and it's been 4 days and she's still oozing. They probably should've stopped a while ago so I'm just hoping they heal up. I'm so sick of the Dr.'s office!
4 years ago today Matt and I were packing everything we'd need for the hospital so that we could have Asher. I can't believe he'll be 4 tomorrow! It's gone by so fast, but I can't even remember our lives before him. They were probably quiet.
He just says so many funny things all day. He has a little toy ring and I always try to put it somewhere that he can't find because he just drops it on the ground then I find it in the girl's mouths. So he found it this morning and wanted to keep it by my wedding ring. Then he waned to talk about who WE were going to marry the rest of the morning. His go to future wife is usually Emily from across the street, but today he informed me that he can't marry her because she says poop. Which is weird because that's Asher's favorite word. After some deep thought he decided he'd just marry Averi. Obviously not Piper but definitely Averi!
