Our Kids

I've been thinking for a while that I wanted to write down a little bit about each child right now at the ages they are and what they're personalities are like. Their personalities and traits are so individual and sweet that I needed to have it written down before they get older and evolve. I am starting from the youngest and going to the oldest.
Averi Jane
Averi is so sweet, it's always the first thought I have each time I grab her out of her crib. She's really easy going, she'll just lay in her crib and play with her toes while Piper cries. A lot of times she'll fall asleep through all the tears and yelling. She has one big dimple on her right cheek. She has beautiful big blue eyes. I don't think they'll change at this point. They're just so pretty. She's about the floppiest thing you'll ever pick up. She's long and thin like a green bean. She also kicks her left leg. When she gets excited her left leg just starts going up and down really fast and hard. When she is just sitting there her hands and feet just rotate in circles. It's really funny.
I had to use this picture because it's just her. Her legs just stick up when you set her down. There have been a lot of times that they've just popped up and hit her in her face, and even a lot where they've hit Piper in the face while they're laying next to each other. She drools a lot, and always has her mouth open. She makes the cutest sounds. She sounds like a dove whenever she talks. She also likes to do raspberries.
It seems like she is always trying to do new sounds with her mouth. She loves her sister and mom, but she just lights up whenever she sees Matt and Asher. She thinks Asher is so funny. I can't tell who she looks like at this point, I think I might be to close to all everyone to tell. But a lot of people say she looks like a little Asher. They do have similar coloring and eyes. She's just so delicate, physically and emotionally. She doesn't cry much but when she does it about breaks your heart. It's the saddest cry you've ever heard. We really love her and are so happy that she and her sister decided to come at the same time. She has made having twins so much fun. I do always feel a little guilty because she's just so happy and content that I feel like she doesn't get held or as much or as much attention but I really do try my best.

Piper Lynn
Piper is so sweet too. They are so different! Piper is thick and strong. She started out a little smaller but is quite a bit bigger by a few pounds now. She's got dark curly hair and her skin has an olive tint to it. When Piper gets enough sleep she is really happy and content. She's so smiley and likes to stick that tongue out. We had a rough start with her, but you love who you serve and I've really do love her! She's got a sensitive stomach and has a hard time eating because she sucks in a lot of air and has a hard time holding still. We've tried a million little tricks and are still working on her eating issues with her, but she's doing so much better now that she's getting older.
Sleep has also been harder with her. I thought that maybe she just didn't need as much sleep or something. She needs a lot of sleep though. Right now most out of all the kids! If she's up too long, like much more than an hour, she just gets tired and starts crying. The problem has been that she wakes up a lot. She'll get into a lighter sleep and wake herself up. Then she gets more and more tired as the day goes on. But because Averi and Piper are in the same room it's been hard for me to let her cry herself back to sleep and things. We've taken care of the daytime problem for the most part and she's actually doing really good now. She also wakes up a lot at night, we've had more good nights than bad lately. There have been so many nights when I'm so tired and she just looks up and me and smiles so big. With the combination of the eating and sleeping problems along with being a twin and everything that comes along with that has really been hard for her. Even though she's had to cry more than a baby should I feel like she is happy now and knows that I love her. (I always worry if my kids know that I love them for some reason)
Piper has just cutest smile and laugh I've ever heard! She's just a beautiful baby! Her eyes are like a slate blue and she has eyebrows. Not a lot of babies have them, but for some reason she does. Piper looks a lot like my baby pictures, and I think she looks like my mom's side of the family. Her little ears and eye shape look like the Sampson side to me. When she was first born and Matt showed her to me I thought she looked a lot like Asher, then I never saw it again. She loves her sister. She sees her and just smiles, when I lay then next to her she just reaches out for Averi. She always wants to be touching her. It's really cute. Every time I try to get a video of it they just stare at the camera and kick. I think that Piper is going to be one of those people that just loves to laugh. Averi will coo and spit and Piper just looks at her like she's so funny. They're still a little young, but that's the impression I get of them. Averi thinks she's funny and Piper thinks Averi's funny too.
Piper's almost sitting up, she reaches and grabs things really well. She's got some chubby little legs and cheeks that are so cute. Her skin is so soft and she likes to put her cheek on mine when she goes down and gets up from her naps. I love those little cheeks. When I lay her down to go to sleep she instantly pulls the blanket over her face and sleeps that way. So she's got her face covered and her arms stretched out, then her arms and legs just go crazy kicking and waving and I guess that's how she puts herself to sleep. That's probably why she has such a hard time. Those arms and legs are always going nuts, when she's excited, mad, tired or hungry.

Piper has been different from my other babies and I just know that with different personality traits comes different talents and with her it'll be fun to see how she grows up and those traits develop.
Asher Chad
Asher and I have spent so much time together over the last three years that I really know him the best. He is so funny! He says so many cute funny things each day. He has a big vocabulary and really feels comfortable using it. He makes up a lot of words too. I find myself wanting to use them when I talk now. His most common words are; ery (very), possily (somewhere between probably and possibly), capt (hat, cap), enner (already), fring (bring), fuv (love). I hope that he never stops saying these things. I just love it when he goes, "I fuv you mom."
Some examples of how he uses these words are like, I'll ask him if he's cleaned up his toys and he'll say, "I possily enner did!" That's a common sentence for him. And if he's telling a story he uses the word ery quite a bit. If I ask him where something is but he doesn't want to look for it he usually says, "Oh! It's ery lost."

Asher's really tall for his age and I think acts older too. He has really big eyes and long eyelashes. People think he looks just like Matt. It's possible, I can't tell. Asher has cute legs, I get to see them a lot because he likes to take his pants off. All our bathrooms are upstairs, but Asher is really scared of the upstairs right now because that's where all the ghosts and monsters are. So if I'm busy and he's scared he has a hard time going to the bathroom, so it's really drug out potty training!
Asher's really been sweet with his new sisters. He always calls them sweetie! It's so cute of him, he's really sweet to them. They'll yell or cry for a second and he won't even look up from what he's doing and just say, "It's ok sweetie, don't be sad." I'm looking forward to watching them all grow up together and interact.
Asher's really social and takes an interest in others. He remembers everyone's names, except his sisters he gets those mixed up. He loves curious George, fruit, his blanket, his binkie, nursery, his family, grandparents, and juice. He has eating ADD, he cannot sit and just eat a meal. That's our biggest issue each day.Asher still takes 3 hour naps most days, and remembers anyone or anywhere he's ever received candy from. He likes to play at the park and is very independent. He'll just walk out the front door and go there. He doesn't wander and doesn't go into the street, and we haven't had any problems with him over there for the most part.
Asher's my little buddy. I usually take him wherever I go. He's a little spoiled but he's our first. We love him and have so much fun with him everyday.

What an awesome idea to write about each one of your kids. They are so cute and are growing up so fast! Isn't it a blessing to be able to stay home with them and witness the little miracles that they are?! Anyway, it is so fun to take a peak at your lives -- thanks for sharing. Tell Matt hello. I miss running into you guys in Arco, but hopefully Joylynn is enjoying I.F.
