Our Easter Milestones

I wanted a few shots of the girls on Easter. This weekend has really been a turning point for us. They both are only waking up once at night to eat, them wake up at like 8 or 9 in the morning after that feeding. Also, I can lay them down awake and they go to sleep now. This has been a huge accomplishment, I've been spending the last couple weeks doing this. I've never been one to really let them cry so it's taken a little longer for them to figure out how to put themselves to sleep. But it sure is nice when you can just lay them down and they close their eyes. Now I just need to teach Asher how to go to sleep without yelling for drinks, food, toys, songs, bathroom breaks, etc.... Aren't these pictures as great as the professional ones?! You'd never know we took them ourselves running out the door to church.

I liked this one of Asher. It's a big responsibility holding a baby. He doesn't usually ask to hold them and I kind of just put her in his lap and he was so proud.
He's trying to get his arm around both girls. What a great big brother! He feels pretty proud when I ask him to help with the girls. Either that or he runs so he doesn't have to help. He has been so good with the girls. He always tries to be gentle with them and talks to them. He always goes, "Hey little fella!" He does it in a real soft, high pitched voice. It's so funny. I think Adam calls him little fella.
The other day I had them both in the crib together and when I went in their room they were like this. Averi's hand was all over Piper's face and mouth so I separated them. Then I came in a few minutes after that. (I must have been doing laundry) They were close like that again. It was so sweet. Lately I feel like they've liked to be together when they're awake. Also today they've both kind of started to smile. Because they were so early they've been a little slow to smile and things. I love their little smiles, they're so rewarding after so much work. It's like they're acknowledging you and giving you a reward for so much hard work. It makes it all worth it.

They are too adorable! And congrats on getting them to sleep on their own. That sounds hard to do with twins.

Wow! They are getting so much bigger! Hope you guys had a great Easter. We had a lot of fun in I.F. with Mom and Dad. I gained about 8 pounds as usual! Tell Asher that Uncle Mike thinks he is a great big brother!

I am calling you for sleeping tips when I have my baby. Way to go, it is so hard to train them to sleep. Thats why mine wake up until they are about 2. Loved seeing you last month.
