We celebrated Asher's birthday this Saturday. It was way fun. We all went to the Kangaroo Zoo and then came back to our house for cake and ice cream. The kids all had fun. I waited till the last minute to decide whether we should do something outside or inside. I'm glad we went with inside because it was totally windy. He had lot's of friends and family come. It was fun to have everyone there! All the kids played and jumped on one toy the whole time. It just happened to be the toy right by where the parents were all sitting, it was great for us. We could visit and didn't have to worry about chasing our kids. Except Lindy of course!
Asher's cousins all came back to the house to help him open gifts and have cake. We were lucky they were there. He was totally happy with just his first gift, and they were there to help the rest of them get opened. I always feel bad for all the other kids on birthday's. The birthday kid gets overwhelmed with too many gifts and all the kids are doing their best not to just rip everything open as fast as they can. (I guess we could've had gift bags, I'll do that next year!)
The whole day was fun, it was the perfect ending to a long week. I ended up falling asleep at 9:30 that night, I think I was asleep before Asher. He woke up a couple times that night, Matt said that when he went in Asher was just asking for all of his basketball and toys.
We've had so much fun with Asher lately, I have just loved every new phase more than the last. He's got such a fun personality and it's fun to watch him grow and learn every new thing. I just can't believe he's not a baby anymore. It seems like we just had him!

Wow he is so big!!! I bet he had a fun birthday.
Wow, I can't believe he is 2!
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Sorry we couldn't be there. Kurt got really motivated and spent the day in our yard.
Aren't kids funny about gifts. You could probably just get them one and they would be happy. Or, just get them all the paper and the boxes and they would probably play with that.
There is no way that Asher could already be 2!! Are you sure he's not just 1?? Time is going by way too fast. Sorry we are so bad at keeping track of dates, but I sure hope Asher had a great Birthday. Tell him that his Uncle Mike and Aunt Amy and all his cousins sure love him!--Mike
What a big boy. Can you hardly believe it? Time flies. Looks like he had a great time and you got pictures so he'll remember it forever. Kangaroo zoo looks like it's a lot of fun, we'll have to go check it out.
Happy Birthday Asher! I can't believe he is already two. He is so big! Looks like you had a fun party.
i was looking at the books on your shelf, are they good, could you give me a break down some time?
It's hard to believe that he'd 2 already! I remember little teeny baby Asher! Congrats and good luck with the two's...I hope they're not too terrible. :)
Holy cow, I cant believe he's 2! It seems like just yesterday he was a newborn babe :)
Thanks for the fun day--Happy Birthday Asher!!
Happy Birthday Asher! I love birthday parties, it's kind of an obsession! Hey how did you get the recipe blog back???
Seriously, I can't believe he's not a baby anymore, either. He grew so fast. Watch out, now he'll start talking a mile a minute and finding trouble you didn't even know existed! Good luck with that!! Thanks for inviting us to his party. David was so sad when we left, he kept saying "Asher's birthday party, mommy. Let's do it again!"
Love the bread! We are almost out of it. It is really, really moist and soft.
