More of the Kids

Well, this is the best couple of weeks that we've had so far. With the girls sleeping better everyone is so much happier! I must think the girls look cute whenever they wear these pajamas because that's about the only time I take pictures of them. Plus I keep the camera in the desk so all my pictures of them are within a foot of the desk. I've bought them so many cute clothes, I need to be better at capturing more than just these pajamas in the living room.

The girl's personalities have been coming out a lot more lately. They're so silly! The girls have mastered the stairs, so they really roam around the house now. They just crawl around together everywhere they go. You can hear them coming because they just giggle and squeal the whole time they play together. They're getting more and more comfortable around each other. Averi hasn't been as afraid of Piper lately.
A few days ago Matt was telling me that the girls have been kind of snuggling and kissing each other. Then when they were in the cart together at Costco they just were falling all over each other hugging and kissing each other! It was just cutest thing I've ever seen. They just love each other. It's been so cool finally seeing that relationship develop. The first year has been so much work and it's really been rewarding lately. I've also noticed that they're different with each other than they are with other babies. They play and sit right on top of each other without hurting each other when they play, but as soon as there's another baby they're pulling that babies hair and hurting them.

Asher loves playing with the girls. He's so good with them! He always calls them sweetie, and wants them to follow him around. They're usually all 3 crawling around on the floor. He never wants me to put them to bed because he's having so much fun with them. In the evenings before bed they are so fun. They are tired enough that they just fall all over the place and laugh.
Asher's still taking naps. It's nice to have a little break in the afternoon, but he's been staying up late. He just goes up in his room and reads book then comes out hungry or thirsty every 15-20 minutes.

Asher's learning a lot in preschool. He knows the Pledge of Allegiance, and can recognize all the numbers and letters. I don't know what else he does in school because every time I ask him what he did, or what he learned he just says, "Markers". But I'll hear him in the back of the car singing some song or saying some little nursery rhyme that I've never heard before.
All the kids are so big. I took them out by myself to run errands today. I stopped at Payless and went in to have their feet measured. The girls are a size 5, and Asher is in between a 13 and 1. I guess it's no surprise at this point that they're tall and have big feet.
The kids all had Doctor appointments this week.
Averi is:
30.5 inches long, 20.5 lbs., and her head is 41.5 centimeters. So for length she's in the 97th percentile, and for weight she's only in the 50th. So she's just long and skinny!
Piper is:
31.25 inches long, 22.5 lbs., and her head is 45.3 centimeters. So for length she's above the 97th percentile, and for weight she's almost in the 80th percentile. So she's about 2 pounds heavier than Averi.
Asher's still off the charts for height. He's outgrown 5T and is now just in boys clothes. He's just so skinny that they're a little too baggy. There's quite a jump from 5T to size 5.
Piper has gotten so fun! She's walking now, and it's so cute. She stands up in the middle of the floor and just starts walking, she falls every couple of steps. It doesn't seem to bother her. She's learning so fast. I think it's been a lot of work because she's been sleeping really good. I think within the next month they'll be sleeping through the night without those brutal 5 and 6 am feedings. It's such a weird time because if I don't feed them they'll just stay awake for the day and wake everyone else up too. So I'm up for any tips!
Piper's talking a lot too. She mimics a lot and has the cutest voice! She's a good eater but I'm thinking that we're going to have to have her completely off dairy. She just cries and cries when she has any lactose. I'm researching right now and trying to decide what we're going to put her on when she's done with formula. Everything has so many negative side effects that nothing is a good choice!
Their birthday party is this Saturday and I should have some good pictures to post then!
