The girls at 4 months old.

This last month has been the worst, then the best! I'm so glad things have finally turned around! After about 3 1/2 months old this just started getting so hard, I was getting up every 3 hours at night with Piper. Then during the day she would just cry a ton! She had a hard time putting herself to sleep and it was even harder if I tried to hold her to sleep. Then she'd wake up after she'd been asleep for 30-40 minutes. She'd be tired when she woke up and then I had to pick when to let her cry it out around Averi's naps. It was just miserable. Then one day they woke up and took good naps that day. Now we're having good days more and more often. I started putting some rice cereal in her bottle during her first middle of the night feeding and that has helped with the 3 hours. Now she is sleeping from about 4-7 hours at a time. And we're still working on the naps. Two nights ago I got up once the whole night and morning. (I'm usually up and down all morning in the early hours) Then the next day Piper took 3 almost 2 hour naps.

This is very detailed, but their sleep makes all the difference, as does my sleep. So the last week and a half has been totally doable. There have been a few times where I've just felt like it's over! The hardest part is over and we'll just have hard stages here and there as they get older. Averi is just the best baby. She's even a better baby and sleeper than Asher was. I just lay her in her crib and I don't hear a peep out of her for a couple hours. Then when she wakes up it sound like a little dove just starts cooing. Lately though she's just silent and I can hear her little legs stick up in the air then fall. She's just happy and content, but if she does cry it's the saddest thing. Every time anyone hears her cry they think I'm hurting her or there's something wrong. I would do anything for her if it meant that she didn't have to be sad for another second. It's funny how their little temperaments are so different. If Piper wants something she demands it and doesn't give up until she gets it. Averi will just patiently wait until I'm ready. It's fun having both. I can't wait to watch them grow up and interact with each other and watch as their personalities develop.

The other day the girls were both in such good moods and were giggly so I decided to take a few pictures. I don't have enough pictures of them laughing. I love it!They're 4 1/2 months old here. They're starting to grab things and suck on their hands. I love how their onsies are soaking within 5 min. of getting them dressed. Right now Averi's the drooly one, and Piper likes to suck on her little bracelet.

I love these cute little faces!
We have some friends, Casey and Leslie, and she made these blankets! They are unbelievable. They are so soft too. I love to just cuddle them up in them. There are a lot of pictures where their arms are linked like that. It's cute because if you lay them next to each other they always do that. Lately Piper can link them and get Averi's hand in her mouth.
Piper's looking at the ceiling fan, my babysitter!
Her tongue's been sticking out quite a bit lately. She's been so happy now that she's eating and sleeping good.
That is a typical Averi face. Very serious. It's hard to get good pictures of her because as soon as she sees the camera she gets very serious and concentrates on the camera.
I brought the girls to their 4 month check up. They are both 26 inches long. Piper weighed just under 16 pounds, and Averi weighed 13.5 pounds. Piper is just thick and strong. Averi is just fragile and feels like a string bean when you pick her up. I'm feeling good now about our little family and hopeful that we'll be getting on a schedule and sleep.
I guess I didn't take any pictures of Asher, but I wanted to write down some of the cute things he says. Most of the things he says are so cute because of the way he says them, but since this is my journal I just need to write them down and this is good enough.
The other day we were eating lunch and he was telling me that he had a cavity, and I was agreeing with him. Then he goes, "Yeah, it's not terrible!" (talking with his hands of course) Then he thought about it and goes, "No, it is terrible!"
He's been so good lately. He likes help me clean and is really starting to do some good work. He still calls the girls "He".
Asher always asks if I'm a princess, or if I'm cool. Usually when I'm dressed up for church he says I'm a princess, but the other night I put a new shirt on and he goes, "Mom, you a princess?" I said yes, (why not?) then I went to a meeting. The next time I put on that shirt he started crying telling me that I'm not a princess and to take it off. He has gotten mad at me every time I've worn that shirt. I'm not sure if he hates the shirt or associates it with me leaving. Oh well, a lady at bajio asked me if I wanted some chips and salsa, and when I said no she said, "Yeah, you don't want that pregnancy to last longer than 9 months." I should have said, "Yeah, well my 3 year old thinks I look like a princess in this shirt!"
I can't think of anymore stories, it's getting late and I'm not sure if I'm making sense anymore.
